Canyons, archways, and coral walls start metres from shore, with 30m drop-offs a few kicks out. The Blue Hole is the signature site, but Eel Garden, the Canyon, and the Islands each hold their own. Visibility runs 25–30m most of the year and water temperature sits between 20°C in winter and 28°C in summer. Almost no current. Shore access means no boat loading, no wasted time.

Legal employment requires a Work Permit and Residency Visa from Egyptian Immigration, sponsored by your dive centre. The combined cost is typically around €1,000, usually paid by the instructor rather than the employer. Confirm who covers this before accepting any role. Not all centres sponsor; without a work permit, access to sites with checkpoint controls, including the Blue Hole, is restricted. Some work on tourist visas but enforcement has tightened every year and the risk is real. Visa rules can change. Working without the correct permit is illegal.
